HEAD OF OPERATIONS COORDINATION – SPRING 2024

Last Friday, the incident commander coordination of Mountain Rescue Tyrol took place. This platform with interesting presentations serves to exchange experiences and to talk about challenging operations. This time, the gondola accidents in Hochoetz in winter 2024 and the incident in Schlick 2000 last summer were a central part of the meeting. 

A report by Wilhelm Mareiler, the operations manager of the Kühtai mountain railways, emphasised the essential cooperation between mountain railways and mountain rescuers.

There was a strong demand in the coordination of incident commanders, which was reflected in the number of participants – 106 mountain rescuers. The active discussions between the heads of operations were a central component of the event. Despite the sometimes long journeys, all districts of Mountain Rescue Tyrol were represented.

The next coordination will take place in autumn.
