Success for our mountains and a healthy planet

In a successful collaboration, the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative and Mountain Rescue Tyrol won 37000 euros in a vote. The funding comes from the donation pot of the 32nd Stanglwirt Weißwurstparty, which dedicates a part of the income to special projects every year.

For years, Arnold Schwarzenegger and his team have been committed to specific projects that combine environmental and climate protection with social engagement. “Our initiative shows how we can achieve great things by working together – for people and our planet. Together, we have made an important contribution to supporting the work of the Tyrolean Mountain Rescue Service – a real win-win situation for everyone. We are very grateful that the Stanglwirt was able to support such a great project this year,” says Monika Langthaler, Director of the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative.

This year, the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative is supporting Mountain Rescue Tyrol for the first time as part of the Weißwurstparty. The voluntary organization not only stands for safety, protection and solidarity in the Alps, it also forms an indispensable basis for responsible mountain tourism and is currently struggling with the effects of climate change in particular. Melting glaciers, rockfalls and unpredictable weather phenomena increase the risk and require intensive preparation. This requires more and more knowledge, specialized training and state-of-the-art equipment.

Langthaler says: “We want to send a clear message with this support. Climate protection and regional responsibility must go hand in hand. We need to take both aspects seriously and thus lay the foundations for harmonious coexistence between people and nature. In this way, we can create an environment that remains worth living in for our children and grandchildren.”
